From our minister

Bio of Rev. Lois: I was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, and grew up in Elliot Lake when it was a uranium mining boom town in the ‘50’s and ‘60’s. My first career was elementary Special Ed. Teacher in Toronto and then attended Emmanuel College to prepare for ministry. After ordination, I was settled in North Bay Presbytery, in Loring Pastoral Charge, at St. Andrew’s in Port Loring and St. Paul’s in Golden Valley, where I served from June, 2005-July 2017.I have one son, Greg Jacobs, who is the new principal at Orchard Park Elementary School in Orillia and have five grandchildren, ages 30, 20, 18, 13 and 8. My grandson, Ben, who is 18, was involved in a car crash on Aug. 26th and is now recovering from spinal cord and arm injuries in rehab at Bridgepoint, Active Health Care Center in Toronto. I am so grateful for prayers and answered prayer! As well as travelling, movies, concerts and live theatre, I enjoy kayaking, cross-country skiing, and snow-mobiling. I’m open to new adventures and may begin curling again or get the opportunity to go horse-back riding! I look forward to an exciting ministry here at Unity and I thank everyone for the warm and wonderful welcome and support!
