How We Do What We Do
The work of Unity United Church is accomplished by a number of people who are organized into three groups. Some of these people are members of the church, some are adherents. These groups are: The Leadership Team,The House Groups and The Interest Groups.
The Leadership Team is comprised of a chairperson, a vice chairperson, a past chairperson, a representative from the Ministry & Personnel committee, a member from the Board of Trustees, a member at large and the treasurer, a recording secretary and the minister.
The House Groups are responsible for a month of duties including assistance with worship on Sundays, setting up and taking down tables for coffee hour and helping with any other project as needed. Each groups is comprised of a cross section of the congregation. Every effort is made to try and make sure that the houses have a balanced membership. Sometimes, the houses require a little tweaking. This gives people in the congregation the opportunity to work along side people with whom they would not normally get to know.
The Interest Groups are formed as needed. Some do the work of committees. Some are purely social. Some meet with a specific task that requires completion–when the task is completed, the group disbands. If there is interest, there is a group. Here are some of Unity’s interests:
