At Unity United Church, we are committed to deepening the faith and spiritual connection of our members while extending support and compassion to people in our local community, across the country, and around the world.
King Place Service
On the second Sunday of each month at 2:00 p.m., we offer a worship service at King Place Retirement Living, 750 King Street, Midland. Led by our minister and dedicated volunteers, the service includes hymns, prayers, and communion for the residents of King Place. This ministry helps us remain connected with people of faith who now live there and are no longer able to attend church in person.
Soup Luncheons
Foodbank
Unity supports the local food bank monthly by collecting much needed food items and grocery gift cards. At Christmas we gather socks, mitts and hats for adults and children in our local community and reach out to provide them with a warm and useful gift.
Hike For Hospice
Hospice Huronia holds a special place within our congregation. Every year, a dedicated team from Unity United Church takes part in the Hike for Hospice, helping to raise essential funds for this valuable community resource. For more information about Hospice go to www.hospicehuronia.ca.
Meals of Kindness
At Unity United Church, our talented and caring group of women come together to reach out to those in need by preparing homemade baked goods and hearty meals, such as meat pies, shepherd’s pies, and apple pies. These special treats are delivered to individuals who are homebound or could use a comforting meal and a thoughtful gesture. New members are always welcome to join this ministry of kindness, where fellowship is shared and culinary skills are celebrated in our fully equipped, modern kitchen.
Warm and Cozy
Inspired by the needs she witnessed in our local public schools, church member Phyllis Stanley founded Warm and Cozy Children’s charity to ensure children have proper winter clothing. Recognizing that many students arrive at school without adequate coats, boots, hats, or mittens, Phyllis and a team of dedicated volunteers have worked tirelessly to provide these essentials. Each year, their compassionate outreach has helped hundreds of children stay warm, growing to meet the increasing demand which now includes families experiencing difficult times. Compassion Place
Our congregation proudly supports Compassion Place in Midland. Through our creative baby bottle campaign, we fill bottles with coins and bills to provide assistance to pregnant women facing unexpected or challenging circumstances. This outreach allows us to offer practical help and compassion to those in need, making a positive difference in their lives.
