At Unity United Church, every gift—large or small—helps us live out our mission and support the ministries that make a difference in our community. We’re grateful for the many ways people choose to give, and we want to make the process as simple and flexible as possible.

You can support the church in the way that works best for you. However you choose to give, your generosity helps sustain our worship, outreach, and community programs.

E-transfers

a simple and secure way to give directly from your online banking.

How to Send an E‑Transfer

  1. Log in to your online or mobile banking.
  2. Select Interac e‑Transfer and choose Send Money.
  3. Add Unity United Church as a recipient using this email address.
  4. Enter your donation amount.
  5. In the message/comment box, please include: Your full name and mailing address (for tax receipts)
  6. Your allocation choice, such as: General, Mission & Service, In Memory of (please include the person’s name)
  7. Set the security question to something simple (e.g., “What is the church name”).

PAR

regular monthly donations

Pre‑Authorized Remittance (PAR) is a simple and convenient way to make a regular monthly donation to Unity United Church. It works much like the automatic withdrawals you may already use for your mortgage or utility bills.

How PAR Works

  1. Your bank account is debited on or about the 20th of each month.
  2. Unity United Church receives a combined monthly deposit from all PAR participants.
  3. Each year, you receive one charitable tax receipt for the total amount you contributed through PAR.

How to Enroll

  1. Decide the amount of your monthly donation.
  2. Download and print the PAR Authorization Card.
  3. Complete the form and attach a void cheque from your bank account.
  4. Mail the completed form and void cheque to:

Original signatures are required by the program administrators, so forms cannot be accepted by email.

Donations of securities

tax‑efficient way to give

Donating publicly traded securities—such as stocks, bonds, or mutual funds—is a tax‑efficient way to support Unity United Church. By transferring securities directly, rather than selling them yourself, you may avoid capital gains tax while making a meaningful contribution to our ministry.

How It Works

  1. You authorize your investment firm to transfer eligible securities directly to Unity United Church using our Securities Donation Form.
  2. Once the transfer is received, the securities are sold and the full proceeds are directed to Unity United Church according to your instructions.
  3. You receive a charitable tax receipt for the fair market value of the securities on the date they are received by the church’s brokerage account.

Why Donate Securities?

  • May reduce or eliminate capital gains tax compared to selling the securities yourself.
  • Allows you to make a larger impact with the same asset value.
  • Provides immediate support for Unity United Church’s ministries and future initiatives.
  • Simple, secure, and handled directly through our local process.

How to Make a Securities Donation

  • Decide which securities you wish to donate.
  • Download and complete the Unity United Church Securities Donation Form.
  • Give the form to your financial advisor or investment firm so they can initiate the transfer.
  • Your advisor sends the completed form directly to Unity United Church to confirm the transfer details.
  • Once the transfer is complete, the securities are sold and the proceeds are directed to the church.
  • You receive a tax receipt for the fair market value of the securities on the date they are received.
