SUNDAYS AT 9:55AM

Life Events

You don’t need to be religious, a church member, or even familiar with church traditions to reach out to us. At Unity United Church, we simply offer a caring presence during life’s important moments—whatever they may look like for you. Whether you are celebrating a wedding, welcoming a child through baptism, marking membership, honouring a loved one through a funeral or celebration of life, or seeking support during a difficult or uncertain time, we are here to listen and to help.

We meet people where they are, offering compassionate support grounded in faith, kindness and respect. If you’re unsure what you need, that’s okay too—we’re happy to talk, answer questions, or simply be present. You are welcome to reach out at any stage of life, just as you are.

Baptism

Baptism isn’t only for the “moment,” it is for the “journey.”

Baptism at Unity United Church is a joyful beginning—a welcoming into a caring faith community and a lifelong journey of faith with God. Whether for yourself or your child, baptism is shared by the family, the congregation, and the wider United Church of Canada, and is grounded in relationship, belonging, and community.

If you are exploring baptism, we invite you to spend time worshipping with us and meet with our minister to talk about what this sacred step can mean for you and your family. Baptisms may take place at any time of year following preparation.

Interested in Baptism for yourself or your child? Contact us to arrange a meeting with our minister.

Marriage

Unity United Church welcomes all couples seeking to celebrate their marriage in an inclusive Christian setting. Our ceremonies honour love, commitment, and faith, and are thoughtfully planned to reflect each couple’s unique story.

Weddings begin with an initial meeting with Our Minister, followed by conversations to prepare the service and complete required paperwork. A rehearsal is usually held the day before the wedding.
Couples are invited to join us for Sunday worship prior to their wedding and are always welcome in our church community afterward. Marriages are conducted in accordance with Ontario law. For full details, please click the button below for our Marriage Policy.

Funerals and Celebrations of Life

At Unity United Church, we walk alongside individuals and families with care, compassion, and faith during times of loss. Working closely with local funeral homes, our minister is available to offer a supportive Christian pastoral presence and to help you plan a meaningful celebration of life that honours your loved one’s story and God’s presence within it.

Together, we can shape a service that may include prayers, scripture, reflections, and personal tributes, held at a location that feels right for you and your family. We are here to offer comfort, guidance, and support every step of the way.
